Please allow me to add to this and include “change”.
And at Polaris Media Group (PMG) this week, everyone would agree that this has been a time of change. In fact it has been a couple of months of change with many EMC members of Polaris Media Group and other leaders (Tony Rush, John Lavenia, Shannon Lavenia, Gene Braxton, Wendy Stevens, Elena Fraga, Michael Justice, Jack & Robyn Firestone, Ellery Bennett to name a few) leaving the business to pursue other interests – all for different reasons and all leaving some confusion behind. And it has left many people wondering what’s happened and what the future will bring.
This post is not here to disparage PMG or cast any doubt on that business. My purpose is simple: to help people create a way forward irrespective of whether or not they see a future for themselves with PMG.
PMG’s claimed expertise is in the area of personal development, not online or offline marketing or business development. There can be no doubt that one of the areas that has been given less than adequate attention by that business is that pertaining to how to successfully run a network marketing business.
The various marketing conference calls are fairly generic in nature, yet the demand for information by distributors is often more specific. And being an online entrepreneur takes more than just doing what you think suits you and seeing what happens.
What you need to succeed in any online or network marketing business (including PMG) is a Business Plan that covers the following:
- specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound goals;
- an assessment of your target market and what they need;
- strong emphasis on Personal Branding;
- a clear marketing plan;
- a very strong understanding of how to use and link social media to connect with prospects (frequent and repetitive sales pitches don’t work);
- knowledge on how to minimise your time on social media so that you can spend more time with prospects (automation is essential);
- a concise lead generation strategy;
- a method of personal connection with leads;
- a planned follow-up method; and
- a conversion to sale strategy.
Once you have clearly defined your plan, then you work that plan and make adjustments based on outcomes.
If you are thinking there is more to achieving success than you have been led to believe, you’re right. So how do you gain the knowledge, understanding and expertise to become proficient at what most companies never teach. You have to find it yourself.
